Coming November 2026 for Big Bumpin's 20th anniversary

A haunted homage to Big Bumpin'

Remember Big Bumpin'? The bumper-car party game Burger King put out for the Xbox and Xbox 360 on November 19, 2006, alongside Sneak King and PocketBike Racer. Its Bumpin' Hockey mode, two teams of bumper cars shoving a giant puck into goals, was couch chaos at its finest.

Boo Bumpin' is our love letter to that mode, rebuilt from scratch with a Halloween twist. Ghosts drive the bumper carts, a jack-o'-lantern is the puck, and the rink sits in a moonlit graveyard. We're aiming to launch in November 2026, right on the game's 20th anniversary.

Watch it in action

A bots-only match from the current build, with ghostly CPU drivers filling every seat.

Couch chaos

Four players, one screen. Xbox controllers, or two friends sharing one keyboard. Press BOOST to jump in.

Bump to win

Hits send carts skating across the ice. Ram hard enough and your rival spins out, stunned, while you steal the pumpkin.

Pumpkin puck, crypt goals

2v2 hockey: Pumpkins against Phantoms. Tie at the horn? The bell tolls for sudden death, and the next goal wins.

Online rooms

Host a private room and share the four-letter code. Couch players on each machine join the same match.

Pick your ride

Six 50s bumper carts, from a flamed hot rod to a finned hearse, each with its own trick, and nine ghost drivers to put behind the wheel. Empty seats fill with ghostly CPU drivers.

Replays from inputs

The whole simulation is deterministic, so a match can be replayed from its input log. Instant replays of goals are on the way.

Pick your ride

Six bumper carts dressed up as the chrome-and-fins classics of the 1940s and 50s, each with a trick of its own. Pick one in the lobby, then pick the ghost who drives it. Its body takes your team's paint: pumpkin orange or phantom purple.

All six carts in a row, each with a ghost driver: Roadmonster, Thunderbat, Brimstone, Silver Shroud, Screamliner and Cadaverlac
Roadmonster: an orange bumper cart with a toothy chrome grille, portholes and a white lower body, driven by a green ghost

Roadmonster

Cruiser · after the '52 Buick Roadmaster

Power Hungry: power-ups last half as long again.

Speed
Handling
Power
Toughness

The all-rounder with the monster grin. Good at everything, and once it grabs an Overdrive or a Super Magnet it keeps it longer than anyone.

Thunderbat: a small purple roadster with hooded headlights, a white porthole hardtop and bat-wing fins, driven by a many-eyed blue ghost

Thunderbat

Roadster · after the '57 Ford Thunderbird

Quick Boost: boost recharges twice as fast.

Speed
Handling
Power
Toughness

The smallest, lightest and quickest cart on the ice. It turns on a dime and boosts every second, but a big hit sends it spinning.

Brimstone: a black hot rod with orange flames, fat fenders and a chrome blower, driven by a red ghost

Brimstone

Hot Rod · a flamed '40 coupe

Battering Ram: boost into a cart and it goes flying.

Speed
Handling
Power
Toughness

Heavy, slow to get going and wide in the turns, with the biggest boost in the lineup. Its flames come in your team's color.

Silver Shroud: a purple limousine with black sweeping fenders and a tall chrome grille, driven by a ghost with a halo

Silver Shroud

Limousine · after the Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud

Dribble: the puck sticks to its nose.

Speed
Handling
Power
Toughness

Stately, grippy and precise, with a little ghost for a mascot. It carries the puck up the ice like a butler with a tray, but its shots are gentle.

Screamliner: an orange fastback with silver streaks down the hood and a cream sloping tail, driven by a many-eyed purple ghost

Screamliner

Fastback · after the '47 Chevy Fleetline

Slapshot: hits the puck harder than any other cart.

Speed
Handling
Power
Toughness

Streamlined for speed down the boards. Line it up behind the pumpkin and the shot flies faster than the puck's usual top speed.

Cadaverlac: a long purple hearse with a black coach, curtained windows and giant tailfins, driven by a ghost with an axe in its head

Cadaverlac

Hearse · after the '59 Cadillac

Unstoppable: bumps never stun it.

Speed
Handling
Power
Toughness

The longest, heaviest thing on the ice, with the giant '59 fins and a coach out back. Slow, but it barely budges when hit. Park it in front of your net.

Screens

Play the playtest

In your browser

  1. Open the web build in desktop Chrome, Edge or Firefox.
  2. Pair an Xbox controller over Bluetooth (or plug it in), click the game, and press A.
  3. Pick Couch Match. Everyone presses BOOST to join and picks a cart, a ghost and a team: up or down picks the row, left or right changes it. Then press START.

On a phone or tablet: turn it sideways and tap Tap to play. Drag on the left half of the screen to steer and tap BOOST on the right. In the lobby, tap a seat to join, then tap either side of your cart, ghost or team to change it. On an iPhone, Add to Home Screen plays full screen.

Practice Gym: a big lot with live speed and turning numbers, a pad for every power-up, and a hazard yard (holes, saws, ice, bumpers) to try.

Keep the tab in front. Browsers pause background tabs, and online matches will drop.

With friends online

  1. One person picks Online Match → Host Private Room and shares the four-letter code on the lobby screen.
  2. Everyone else picks Online Match, types the code, and chooses Join Room Code.
  3. Couch players on each machine join as usual. Bots fill the rest.

Browsers talk over WebSockets, so a flaky connection hurts more than it would in a downloaded build.
